Rachel Sun, Principal Architect
Rachel Sun, OAA architect, established Rachel Y.H. Architect in Toronto in 2016, and founded the former Essential Design Atelier in Vancouver in 2006.
Rachel was trained at the Architecture Schools of Tianjin Univercity of China and UBC of Canada. Rachel had worked for a number of practices of various sizes in both Canada and China. She has over 25 years’ extensive experience in various sectors with a particular focus on the design, construction documentation and has delivered over 50 projects ranging in value from $100k to $10m in Canada. She proposed new concept designs with creative sense in accordance with clients' preferred styles. Rachel has been recognized as a design professional with consistently reliable and hard working attitude, excellent technical skills and diligence in problem solving. |
Francesco Scolozzi, Design Consultant

Mr. Scolozzi received his “Magna cum Laude” (Honours degree) Doctor in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture in Florence, Italy and received the Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard University, USA. Mr. Scolozzi established his office of Architecture in Bologna in 1968. In his early architectural career, he had worked with some world well-known architects such as Alvar Aalto (Finland), Kenzo Tange (Japan) and Arthur Erickson (Canada). Mr. Scolozzi immigrated to Canada in 1976 and started his architectural practice in Toronto. He had won OAA's Design Award for Banca Commerciale Italiana head branch and Urban Design Award for the City of Mississauga. In 1996 he won an international competition for Nanjing Science and Technology Building after when he established his practice in China. Mr. Scolozzi‘s international practices are remarkable. For the past 20 years, he led his team to win many major international competitions in China. Among them are the Beijing Olympic Project, National Tennis Center and National Hockey Stadium. |
